i met him on my last shoot

and i feel bad for him . . . or inspired actually. . .

he wasnt with all the other little ducks in the pond. he didnt look at all like the others. and he seemed to venture off when the others stayed where it was safe.

some may think that he was the ugly duckling being left out by the others,

but i choose to look at him as a creative individual with bold coloring and different look on life

not to mention that he kept coming over to me and the bride and groom i was with

so he is my friend

he is beautiful

if i were to redo my vows . . . i would do what keira and mckay did! so beautiful. so natural. so fun!from riding the chair lift and doing their vows on top of a mountain, to cruising down the alpine slide and partying at a bowling alley . . .it was PURE GENIUS and AMAZINGNESS! and to this day i am still jealous of her fabulously planned wedding.

i never know where i am going to pull inspiration from and call me crazy but there were three sets of pj's that cash was wearing there for a while that i just LOVED. i loved the color combination, the artwork, the textures. seriously loved.
loved it so much that i documented them so that i could reference them while doing any design work. its just funny where inspiration can come from. the first set is my all time favorite. it reminds me of a book my mom used to read to me and the illustrations. hand drawn. fun, bright. the second set, well the elephant is actually velvety. and i love anything strips! now the final one was fun because i had never though to put those to colors together and applica (have no idea how to spell that) always adds great texture.

well i have had way too much on my mind lately and its a lot of things that i dont have any control over . . . like our house selling, jeremys job, moving to idaho.jer told me today that he realized that i really am a planner.i can be sporadic, but man i sure like to know whats in my future and as of right now, seriously . . . i couldnt tell you!
so with that perdicament . . . i can control the memories i am creating with my family and one of those we got to create this past summer.i never blogged it because i was so ridiculously busy i never had time to
this is just a breath of fresh air to look ati love, wait did i say love . . . because i LOVE my familyand i cant wait for beach house 2013!now its a LOT of work to go on vacations with a family as young as mine. i was totally exhausted. however, it was SO WORTH IT! ah, the memories.

jeff and suz let us invade their house one night for a family BBQ. JEFF KILLED it with dinner as he always does. and they were so nice to host us especially because the rasmussen bunch can be a wild crew and i think we kind of invited ourselves. . .

the next adventure was the zoo. just my family and mom and dad went along for this one. and man my parents helped out SOOOOO much with the kids. and it was kind of funny because it was a total workout going there. we had to keep moving to keep the little ones entertained and seriously i think we only saw about a 1/4 of that zoo. ITS HUGE!

ah the beach! our families favorite part of new port!

and our big night out to the family favorite BUBBA GUMPS,however i will say it was a bit of a let down. i think craving it for two years built it up a little much.

and my last little shout out to my cousin whitney who is leaving for the peace corp this month. she has always been one of my favs . . . dont know if that is legal to say but she is. whit and i are like two peas in a pod. it SUCKS that we have both had to grow up because in turn you tend to not have as much time when your busy with a family and her school. however, whenever i see her its right back to the way it was. whit i love you and am super excited for you to join the peace corp. i think you are going to have an amazing adventure yourself and i think you will always always be glad that you made this choice in your life!good luck butt chunk!

second to last wedding of 2011brett and britt are fantastico, as i have said before.i am a little mad at them for moving to texas . . .but i guess i will let it slide just this oncei do have to say that there were 4 things about this wedding that i absolutley adored.1. an heirloom watch britt wore that has been passed through 3 generations2. all the crackled mirror vases3. all the cakes were made by britts 14 year old sister!4. a gallery of images up stairs of their engagement and groomal session pinned on strings(it was such a great way to showcase their images and share them with everyone! and i felt a tiny bit special because they had TONS, all of which i shot!)
such a great wedding to be a part of and again, clients that have become my friends!enjoy!

well kjirsten and vinney, they have a special little spot in my heartkjirstens little sister, jana, was my bestest friend growing uphowever there was one little hold up when it came to our friendship. . . jana wouldnt play barbies with meoh but KJIRSTEN wouldi feel like kjirsten is one of my best friends as wellwe taught each other how to spell one anothers name as fast as we couldplayed barbies, played house in the trailer
life was good growing up and i can give credit to jana and kjirsten
now, kjirsten also found an amazing guy. vinny. he has some serious spunk and between the two of them . . . its a lot of laughs!

i started off christmas up at my folks house where all the family gathered.we opened presents and of course had a BIG FEAST. my mom always makes a yummy spread of ham, potatoes, and yummy chips and dip. it was a little chaotic opening presents and trying to keep up with everything since jeremy wasn't there. he was working againbut not for long . . . he showed up with lights and sirens to surprise everyone. it was hilarious because all the neighbors were running out to see what was going on and even paula welcker came out and hollered over to ask if everything was okay.
some exciting news i learned . . . my brother david got engaged!!!(congrats)
jeremy and i hung out for a little bit longer while all my other siblings trailed off
we then headed home to have our own little christmas since we didnt open any presenta in the morning. (lucky for us the kids are little enough it didnt matter to them!)we hung out in our cozy little house and relaxed. opened presents. ate some pizza. took a bath with the new bubbly elephant. and baked some peanut butter temptations. (yum)
and i just have to say... i dont EVER get sick of my christmas decorations. i love them. i love the way it makes my house feel. i dont think i will ever change them!
i hope all of you had a very merry christmas!

this year is . . . simply put, different

maybe its because there aren't snowy covered streets that quiet the night

maybe its because i didnt buy jeremy one thing for christmas

maybe its because i want things one way, but they are another

maybe its because jeremy is not here because he is working

either way i sit here and i think these things while i look out the window and cant help thinking how the things that NEED to matter the most to us this season seem to slip away. i am not sure. but i will say this....

THAT I AM A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS. AND I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS. I AM TURLY BLESSED TO KNOW THINGS AND HAVE A TESTIMONY OF THINGS THAT BRING ME COMFORT. I AM GRATEFUL THAT I KNOW MY HEAVENLY FATHER AND JESUS CHRIST LIVE AND THAT THEY KNOW OF MY SITUATION DOWN HERE ON EARTH. THEY KNOWS OF MY JOYS. MY SORROWS. MY UPS AND MY DOWNS. THEY STRETCH ME TO GREATER HEIGHTS AND HUMBLES ME WHEN I NEED IT. I KNOW THAT I AM FOREVER IN DEBT TO MY SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST FOR THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE HE GAVE NOT ONLY FOR ME BUT FOR EVERYONE. i havent been up on my blogging skills lately.i dont know if that is because i have a lack of things to blog about,or the worry of the lack of words.i have missed flashback friday the last two weeks because i have wanted to post pictures of my aunt . . . my aunt terrie that passed away last week.i attended her funeral which was so hard.not only because she was gone, but to see people that i know and care about in pain.she is no longer in pain and in a better place.i have had continual nights of prayers dedicated to her familyi have also had nights where tears continually stream down my face.i wasnt best friends with terrie. nor was i one to go over to her house for visits during the last few months of her life. but i do know that i loved her. she was my aunt. my family.and i will always remember her smile.she was and still is beautiful.rest in peace terrie.

to lighten the way i feel about this post i am sharing some amazing pictures of my beautiful boys that i am so blessed to have in my life. i hope that i can be the type of mom to my kids as terrie was to hersshe made such a remarkable influence on them and left them with a beautiful memory.

those of you that stop by often will notice that i have processed this pictures a little differently then i normally do . . . well, i normally dont do much. i shoot for nailing it in camera and then make minor adjustments. with rachels shoot, i decided to work with some toning for two reasons. 1) because i wanted to. and 2) because she is gorgeous and it doesnt matter what i do to the pictures she is AMAZING!
so with that being said I would love to know what you all think of the post processing.some of them i love. some of them, i am not so fond of.

i have shot this event for four years in a row now and i think it just gets more and more insane!i have said it before and i will say it again . . .black friday is INSANE!

thanksgiving table and pies

really excited about how my thanksgiving table turned out.yes yes, it was the first thing that i pinned to pinterest that i ACTUALLY did!that is the cans and bottles all painted the same color. i love how it went with my gold chargers!
and i have to say cooking thanksgiving dinner was SO FUN and SO MUCH WORK!i had no idea. it was a great learning experience. i got everything out and tasting delish . . . except the turkey. that little lady decided she needed to stay in the oven an additional hour and a half! but like i said, lots of learning! even though she took longer then i thought, my maple glazed turkey was SO GOOD!i did EVERYTHING from scratch/homemade!pumpkin pies (including crust), pear pies, turkey, cornbread stuffing, rolls, green beans, buttermilk mashed potatoes and gravy!
and with that being said...thank you mom and phyllis for all the dinners you have slaved over on my behalf!i appreciate you so much more after yesterday!

remember when my wedding day posts were only 7-10 images . . . if that.things have changed. i dont know if it because i have changed, or because my brides have changed . . . or both.
either way i love it and to tell their story properly it just takes more images!
andrea and justin's wedding was INCREDIBLit was an amazing gorgeous setting,delicious casual food (ribs, pork, beans, etc),and super fun people and dancing everywhere!

i sure love taking picts of families. seriously, its one of my favorites. especially because you get to see how families interact and the different dynamics.i have known kim for . . . how long now, 5 years almost i think . . .i love her and now that i got to hang out with her sassy fun little family i love them too!

we are so excited to be unveilingTHE PRINCESS PROJECT
Lindsey Orton and myself have joined teams on this collaboration along with,Alta Moda Bridal, Urban Chateau Floral, Polka Dots and Daisies, and Hair and Makeup by Steph.lindsey first approached me about the idea and i thought . . . disney princess . . . sounds like it could be cheesy. . .right? then i started to think high fashion disney princess inspired. i was sold! So, one month and lots of brainstorming later, we have . . .

senior year was a little bit of a whirlwind for me. as i was talking with sammy the other day i remembered how big of a slacker i turned into that whole year. . . you know how people always say they wish they could go back to high school because of how fun it was. i just think that if i could do any of it over, i would redo my senior year and bust my chops to get a 4.0 and full ride scholarship. no really though. i still graduated with a 3.67, but i could have done better!
sammy, stick with it!senioritis sucks thats for sure!
